Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Sayyed Sajid Ali Naqvi made the remarks while expressing deep concern over recent regional developments. He cautioned against what he described as aggressive policies and military threats targeting Iran, stating that any act of aggression would carry serious and far-reaching consequences.
Naqvi emphasized the deep-rooted religious, cultural, and historical ties between the Iranian and Pakistani nations, noting that solidarity between the two peoples has repeatedly manifested itself during times of hardship. He said this sense of unity remains evident today, despite mounting regional tensions.
The senior Pakistani cleric added that the current situation requires greater cohesion within the Muslim world, calling for unity and collective vigilance in the face of the plots and pressure campaigns driven by hegemonic powers.
Referring to recent developments, Naqvi argued that an initial phase of pressure against Iran—aimed at shaping public opinion, targeting the country’s leadership, and fostering insecurity—has failed to achieve its objectives. He attributed this outcome to resilience within Iranian society and divine support.
He further warned that should such pressures escalate from political and psychological measures to direct military confrontation, the consequences would be severe for those initiating the conflict. According to Naqvi, any attempt to impose war on Iran would, in his view, result in a costly and unprecedented failure.
Concluding his remarks, the head of Pakistan’s Shia Ulema Council offered prayers for the health and longevity of the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, as well as for the security and stability of Iran and its people. He expressed hope that, under the wise leadership, an era of coercion, arrogance, and domination would come to an end, giving way to greater dignity for Iran and what he described as a broader decline of global arrogance.
